Overview
Part of the Cisco® Collaboration Edge Architecture, Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) is an enterprise-class Session Border Controller (SBC) solution that makes it possible to connect and interwork large, midsize, and small business unified communications networks with public and private IP communication services.
As a licensed feature set of Cisco IOS® XE Software, CUBE has a wide range of capabilities that may be used to secure, monitor, and maintain business-critical connections and to ensure compliance with industry standards. Collectively, CUBE features provide exceptional flexibility when architecting highly available enterprise communications networks that save money and offer richer voice and video collaboration experiences to users.
The vCUBE feature set is available for both the Cisco Cloud Services Router 1000V and Catalyst 8000V Edge Software products.

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Follow the "Deploying Cisco Catalyst 8000V Edge Software on Amazon Web Services" for instructions on deploying the instance: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/C8000V/AWS/deploying-c8000v-on-amazon-web-services/overview.html
Once you have launched your instance using the AWS console, connect using an SSH client with the private key chosen during the configuration process. The default username is "ec2-user".
If you need management access to your Virtual CUBE from outside of your VPC, you will need to create an Elastic IP and associate it with one of the instance network interfaces.
Once connected, refer to the CUBE administration guide for details on how to setup your session border controller in IOS XE.
